URBAN WORLD RECORDS

recently i was send two releases from the brand new urbanworld records. urbanword is a sub-label from danish label auditorydesigns, known for releasing albums with analogik and badboe.

i've had the pleasure interviewing analogik before (sorry non-danish guys - you probably wont understand it) and badboe isn't an unknown face on the blog either. so basically i was trippin' my toes off just from reading the subject title.

if you got a secret love for balkan, funk, jazz and everything in between mixed with electronic beat-ness, read on. come on, i dare you.

one of the two releases was indeed featuring the electronic-jazz/reggae-inspired analogik mixed up with balkan/big beat-darling dunkelbunt. analogik has released two album; søens folk (2006) and klunserbeat live (2008) both worth a listen. the songs featured on this ep is various versions of a track called gypsie doodle - and "yaaaay!" to especially this remix. i'm totally loving the groove.

the other release feature music producer unkle ho. born in hong kong, raised in multi-cultural sydney and having travelled to eastern europe, unkle ho's music is a product of these diverse terrains. there's two tracks from the unkle on here; lime juice and kindergarten. both songs got some amazing remixes and it was really hard to pick just one track to represent the entire ep. i finally setteled on the orange disco version of lime juice by saveges y suefo, and i got a feeling it wont disappoint you.

if you like what you hear (and you do!), and feel the hunger for more, go here to grab the two releases. come on, guys. it's releases and record labels like these we should support.

also, drop a comment with your thoughts on the two tracks. much appreciated.
