SILENCE

saturdays are one funny size. they aren't the beginning of anything - nor the end of anything, but saturdays just fumble around somewhere in between. still, we care so deeply for them.

i've used this saturday musing about the meaning of the word: silence

it has turned out to be one of the better days to wonder. where my day-to-day life normally has everything in it but silence, this particular saturday i've really been haunted but the noisy silence all day.

one of the ways to explore silence was to picture it. i've taken a handful of pictures representing silence, which i really would love to show you but sadly they're trapped inside an orange 10x5x3 cm's one-time camera from tiger. i guess you'll have to picture the....pictures. i can tell you, though, that they show the weird condition of a beautiful soundless place, which meant a great deal to me. gods know if i will ever see those quiet animals, that slow quiet snail, those silent trees and all the other wonderful quiet things in the most quiet company one could imagine. i think i fell in love with that feeling for - if only for what seemed to be a split second.

silence now means so much more to me. it's like a long-lost friend discovered once more. here's some handpicked songs that represent silence. and yes, dear blogrocker, music = silence.

let me finish off quoting a scratch book i'm about to pass on to a friend of mine - i kinda wonder what he'll do with it. ohh, and yeah - it's in danish.
